Katana Forkseal Replacement Photos

Prop the bike up so, the front wheel isn't touching the ground (think steering stem stand). Remove the front wheel. Loosen the 22mm(?) fork caps. Remove the forks, remove the fork cap and drain the fork oil.

Parts List:
51152-11D60 - Guide Bushing
51153-08D00 - Oil Seal
51571-47D50 - Dust Seal

Dust Seal
Remove the dust seal.
Retaining Clip
Remove the spring clip with a flat head screwdriver
Bottom
Remove the damping assembly with a 6mm Alan Wrench. An Impact Wrench is much better but isn't strictly required.

Holding the fork upside down and jiggling it up and down works good for me to seperate the inner and outer tubes. Occasionally more forceful methods are required.
Fork Bits
Internal fork pieces on the counter. Note that the spring is upside down (the end with the coils closest together go toward the bottom). Also missing is the spacer. The stock spacer is 150mm long - mine is made form 1" PVC and cut to 165mm long.

Insert the fork seal using a 41mm fork seal driver.
