I have a Telfix fork brace, #FS1, from Spec2. I can't really tell the difference between having the fork brace on or not but, I'm pretty happy with the bike's setup at this point and I'm afraid to touch it too much. I originally purchased it hoping that the fork brace would help prevent my forks from twisting or the triple clamps from bending in a crash because I got annoyed with having 'em straightened every single time I fell over (See Wheels). I haven't tested this theory out yet but, the consensus from those that have indicates that it does, in fact, help quite a bit in this regard.
There's also been some concern about the fork brace restricting air flow into the radiator ever so slightly but, I haven't noticed any cooling issues with mine. If you're concerned about this it may be worth lookin' at Allan Price's Fork Brace below. At anyrate it appears that the fork brace debate will never be resolved but, for whater it's worth, most of the front runners are using 'em. Allen Price from ProTech makes a Fork Brace for the Ninja (among many other cool bits). Check out the pictures here. Allen Price |
